So there is an awesome ridge walk in county Donegal, The Poison Glen. Spectacular scenery and awesomeness. With potential climbing also on offer.

I propose a long weekend trip (I am on placement so don’t get 3 weeks off for easter) However the 20th, 21st and 22nd are the dates I suggest as they suit me best and I have a car.

There is an awesome place called Carrickfinn about 30 – 40 mins away that has bouldering and a nice place to camp one night

Would need to be sunday monday tuesday. Can’t do Wednesday as I only get 2 days off for Easter.
Could drive up Sunday evening, set up camp and hit a nice pub I know for some food, then do the ridge walk the monday. Then Tuesday can be climbing/bouldering and drive back that evening.

Sounds like fun! If there are a lot of us how do tents work?

Tents work by having a waterproof material supported by some type of pole, over another inner shell material (for insulation purposes) that zip up keeping the wind and rain off you for a more pleasant nights sleep.

If lots of people then there will be lots of tents, simples

The place we would be camping is just land beside the sea that is owned by people I know, so generally I just give a bit of a donation towards staying. They have laid water taps and all around the area, which makes easy camping. I have a 2 man tent and since cars will be close by to tents only needed for sleeping purposes not storage. The club has tents that can be borrowed if need be

I know the area quite well so we’ll see what happens

Donegal and climbing sound like an excellent idea. I’ve gear, carΒ  and can be free Sat-Tuesday.

Righto, myself and Grew are thinking of heading earlier in my car. Looks like the weather will be glorious this weekend! Leaving Belfast on Friday evening and anyone who likes is more than welcome to come along (regardless of experience). Plan is to be trad climbing/walking/bouldering/swimming. We’ll have tents or be staying with Grew’s people.
