ModeratorPurely for climbing? Petzl Elios, cheap, bombproof and effective. If you’ll use it for anything else then consider a multipurpose helmet.

InactiveI had a Grivel Salamander, took many rocks successfully, but the chin strap broke in transit.
Now have a Black Diamond Half Dome, keep forgetting to wear it so haven’t tested it.

ModeratorForgot to add: I had a Wild Country Roc Lite and wouldn’t recommend them. They’re a really nice helmet but they sit very high on your head (Not just me- a few people tried it on one night and even those with small heads had the same problem).

ParticipantI have an Alpine shield which is basically a roc lite and I think it’s great. I have a new Elerid shield I havent used yet but it seem to fit far better for my wee smallhead

KeymasterGrivel Salamander doesn’t fit my head well but is a good helmet. If you want to buy it off me I can give you a good deal!
