So its this time of the year again – time for all the women in the club to get together for some multi-pitching/climbing/walking if it buckets
plan and things to bring: TBA nearer the time (I will write a good list of things for everyone to bring with them)
Few of us where thinking of going for a nice meal afterwards and then somewhere for a few drinks as well in Belfast (its also steph’s birthday) 🙂April 17, 2014 at 14:23 #1764
Just as a warning ladies…the Mournes will be full of teenagers that day because of the Mourne Mountain Adventure….be prepared to redirect lost looking faces!April 22, 2014 at 12:35 #1806
If you are interested in going can you please email the club so myself and roisin can get numbers and see if we are able to teach multi – pitching or just do some great single pitch stuff with you gals in the lovely Mourne Mountains 🙂
The idea will be to leave Belfast around half 8/9 (I will probably drive from home, but can pick some up from Newcastle Bus Station (buses every half hour from Europa) and leave back to Belfast (as we plan to go for food in Belfast after and a few bevvy’s) if the number of people to car ratio doesn’t work)
List of equipment to bring (most of it you can borrow of the club):
- Yourself most importantly 😛
- Rock shoes
- Belay Plate
- slings (if you have any)
Clothes and other stuff
- Walking boots
- Extra layers (can get cold)
- Flask of tea 🙂
- Personal first aid kit – if you dont have one I have a big one anyways
- Lunch – high energy foods (sweeties as well )
I have probably forgotten something let me know if I have.
I look forward to spending some lovely quality time with you ladies. WE WILL KEEP YOU UPDATED OF TIMES PLACES ETCApril 22, 2014 at 12:54 #1810
Well, I can’t go to the mournes, but love to meet up with you in belfast for dinner and craic afterwards!!
(Did I use the word craic right? Is this even how one writes it :O )

So despite all my promises about how I was definitely going to make it, I’ve been asked to help out at the Mourne Mountain Adventure on Saturday as my scout group is a leader short. They need someone in the Mournes vicinity as a contact (normally it involves hanging out in a cafe in newcastle eating cake and checking the kids are alive at some point in the afternoon) so I should be able to come and join you for a couple of hours in the morning, depending on where you go, and will definitely be coming for food and a wee tipple after 😀 x
